Sometimes during a round I will start to pop up my driver. It just comes out of the blue and I can't stop it once it starts. I was wondering if anyone had any tips/drills to help with this?

LOL To be honest its impossible to say without more information. Sounds like the bottom of your swing moved a bit too far forward. Maybe your left shoulder and arm is pulling forward and you're getting steep instead of turning maybe its stopping-maybe not.

Unless your ball is teed up 5 inches off the ground or something, the only way you can hit a popup with a driver is to come into the ball VERY steep.

But like Steve said, we'd need more information to determine WHY you're coming in so steep.

One place to start:

When you line up to hit the ball, are you turning your entire torso to the left to address the ball right at the tee?
It was the main mistake I used to make that caused pop-ups. As soon as it was pointed out to me, things got better.

I actually set my club face about 2 inches behind the ball, making sure that my sternum is still facing forward.
If you set up correctly, THEN turn your shoulders to get that club right behind the tee, you're cooked.

This may or may not be your problem, but it's something that is common and would be a good place to start.

I have always had the problem of being to steep with my driver swing and I thought I had the problem fixed. I started to tee the ball higher and move it forward in my stance so I could catch it more on the upswing. When I am on the range, I never pop it up. Hit it pretty straight on the range this way. On the course, I feel like I have the same set-up, swing the same way, but I start to pop it up. My friends tell me that it looks to them like I am swinging and coming under the ball.
