Moe Norman was born July 10, 1929 and is known as one of the greatest ballstrikers in golf history.
Norman was a native of Canada and self taught. The first major highlights of his career were winning the 1955 and '56 Canadian Amateurs. He turned pro shortly thereafter in 1957.
During his career as a professional, he had 55 victories, over 30 course records, 17 hole in ones, two appearances in the Masters, and participated in clinics and exhibition matches across North America.
Tiger Woods is quoted as saying that only Moe Norman and Ben Hogan truly "owned their swings."
