On July 26, 1957, Major winner Wayne Grady was born in Brisbane, Australia. He is best known for winning the 1990 PGA Championship over Fred Couples. His 282 (-6) total was good enough to capture the $225,000 first place prize.
During his career, Grady had nine wins across the world, two of which were on the PGA Tour. He had top 20 finishes in all three of the other majors, and won just over $2 million in prize money on the PGA Tour.
Grady lost in a playoff with Greg Norman and Marc Calcavecchia at the 1989 Open Championship. Calc went on to win the event.
Grady had three wins on the Australasia Tour, and appearances at the Alfred Dunhill Cup, the World Cup, and the Four Tours World Championship.
