Lee, I hope in the future you talk about symmetry or asymmetry as it relates to your motion.

Those sure are beautiful. I am not sure how much they are worth $200 - $400. I think the U.S. made Starbursts were made in 1957 or 1958. You could just swing them and take a few divots in soft turf. It is pretty cool just to get this sensation...

Phil, I cannot help with the date. They do have precision stamped on the back with short parallel lines with a long hosel. Interestingly, the wedge, also ferrel stamped 302, does not have Precision but Slazenger in its place. They do have a red...

Simply put, the zone is meditation in motion - motion in meditation.  Thinking, when coordinated with doing, becomes being. Having one thought and one task sounds like a simple objective.  Consider if thoughts are similar to action, equal a ...

  • Michael C. MacDonald Steve, there was a fellow named Fred Ehrman that Hogan gave golf instruction. I learned this in 5 lessons. Hogan describes him as a good student who in 5 months went from a 90's shooter to a 70's shooter. Hogan writes, "Generally speaking, a teacher is no better than a pupil's ability to work and to learn." I don't know if this is the answer you were looking for. Fred was a lucky man.

One doesn't have to be a genius or a saint to search for or to tell the truth.  Just a thought after reading some of Dariusz Jedrzejewski's material.  I don't know which is more difficult - the searching or the telling, the listening or the living.  Thanks D.J.

  • From Five Lessons

"... I hope that these lessons will serve as a body of knowledge that will lead to further advances in our understanding of the golf swing.  Every year  we learn a little more about golf.  Each new chunk of valid knowledge paves the way to greater knowledge.  Golf is like medicine and the other fields of science in this respect.  In another 15 years, just as there will be many new discoveries in medicine based on and made possible by present-day strides, we will similarly extend our present-day knowledge of golf.  A  golfer, as I see it, has 15 or 20 really productive years-years in which his efforts to realize his full potential as a golfer lead him to speculate about and experiment with every phase of technique, continuously and intensively.  He can only find out so much.  There are only so many days in a week and only so much daylight in a day.  Had I, as a young man starting out in professional golf in 1931, known then what I have managed to  learn by 1957 and been able to start my experimentation at this more advanced point, I would have been  privileged  to have possibly made  more advanced contributions during  my best productive years.  Other men will have that immense pleasure and privilege."

I have been looking for this passage  for over a year and finally found it this morning.  Thanks for the dirt and the teachers that share their knowledge and experiences with the game.
