  • Confession time for me guys....noticed I last posted any kind of results, numbers in here back in June. Damn! Got myself to 177 lbs from 211 when I started P90X, could actually see some abs at the time. Decided to "relax" for a couple of weeks, then it turned into 3, 4....you know where this is headed. Disappointing to say the least, let myself down. The weight is coming back on, belt having to loosen up...I'm at 192 right now and refuse to keep going this way. Not going back to P90X. I have started the Spartacus 1.0 and 2.0 workouts that Jen shared with us a while back, also found this guy on youtube...

    http://www.youtube.com/user/JDCav24

...he has some great "bodyweight" workouts on his channel that I'm doing as well as a program at AthleanX that I have not bought....yet. Also have bought a kettlebell and I will be adding the following routine.

If you are headed the wrong way I encourage you to get back up and get after it again. I'm excited, focused again and glad to be headed back to a healthy lifestyle!

    Thanks,

    Jim

  • My average weight for October was 180.3 and my average Body Fat was 21.9. I have been maintaining my weight through hitting golf balls, running, and weight training. Bench pressed 135 pounds for a personal best...realize the Hulks on the site will find this funny...it is an improvement for me so I am happy. Feeling great about this journey and my progress on getting healthier. Started doing dead lifts to work on my flexibility and strength. Realized that I need some more to squat to improve my golf swing and I believe the dead lifts will help me there. Starting out with an 18 pound exercise bar to get my form correct before beginning my climb up the mountain toward Magnusson's 1,015 pound world record...kidding around. Look forward to really pushing myself over the winter now that Golf Season is over on the east coast...got our first snow storm yesterday.
    Thanks,

  • My average weight for September was 180.7 and my average Body Fat was 22.1 so I have more work to do. Kept spending the majority of my exercise time on my Golf Swing and did the same amount of weight training and running this month. The weather is starting to get colder so I will need to move my workouts into the Gym and will not be able to spend as much time out on the course...summer is over here. Looking forward to getting more exercise in. Been real busy at work so it feels good that I am continuing the push toward my goal. Feeling great. People at work are not commenting about my weight anymore so they have accepted me at my new weight.
    Thanks,

  • Bill, wow!, weight, waist and body fat numbers, very impressive!!! 300 lb benchpress...? Damn proud of you! Not so proud of myself...I'm holding at about 182-184 which is still 27-29 lbs. from where I started but I have been backsliding regarding the diet and exercise! Thanks for updating on your progress. That is motivating!

  • Rock & Jim

Haven't checked in for a while
I have working out hard for several months. I am in the best since college. My weight is between 172-176 my waist is 31 3 sizes smaller BF is 15%. I have been lifting heavier not playing much golf. My strength is good plan on benching over 300 by Nov then cut back to golf specific exercises. I have found that when I lift heavier even with stretching everyday my swing feels constricted

Both of you have done great as well thanks for starting this group

  • My average weight for August was 181.1 and my average Body Fat was 21.9 so I have more work to do. Spending the majority of my exercise time on my Golf Swing and didn't do as much weight training and running this month. Will need to do a little rebalancing to keep the push going toward my goal. It has been quiet on the forum so hopefully everyone is still doing well.

  • Determined that to reach my goal the averages for the whole month for weight and Body Fat needs to meet or exceed it. I posted a Photo of my 2011 results thus far. My average weight for July was 182.3 and my average Body Fat was 21.6 so I have more work to do. Thought some of you might find it helpful to look at the big picture of your body composition. I believe this monthly average concept will help us stay on track over the long term.

  • Fantastic Rock, congratulations on reaching your weight goal! I know you've worked hard to get there! For what it's worth I think the TOTAL BODY Spartacus workouts that Jen posted would be a great CHANGE in your routine to attack the body fat %. I know you can run " 'til the cows come home"....but I think that those workouts would be something to seriously consider. They are hard but again you can modify and work your way to increasing the intensity. I'm no expert, don't know if "muscle confusion" is real but "mixing it up", variety or whatever makes sense to me. Again P90X is hard as well but modification is an option and it works EVERYTHING. Worked great for me....again congratulations Rock!!!!!

  • Broke through the 180 pound barrier for the first time today...178.6 lbs...posted a photo of my Tanita scale. Body Fat is 21.5%. It is now time to pursue a new goal of reducing my body fat to 18% and increasing muscle. My new plan will need to change as my current plan got my weight down, but my body fat is still too high...mostly my belly. Will continue doing what I am doing until I decide on a new plan to follow. Happy 4th of July to everyone and keep striving to reach your health goals.

OneJbird5 challenged me to see who could lose the most weight. We are going to weigh-in on the last Sunday of each month. Jennifer and Mike have been on us for awhile to get in shape so OneJbird5 and I finally decided to get off our butt and do something about it. Here is where we are going to keep track of our results. It is very motivating to lose weight together and discuss our cardio exercises, weight training exercises, and our nutritional plans. Every member is working hard to get in shape and become healthier. Please join us if you want in. Mike Maves has joined and created a Forum so we can discuss our journey along the way. Best of Luck to all of the Dirters!
