hello,

I have not read the responses below but this is what i think.

angles and set up look good

just from the top your ams take over

simple fix.....

once you get to the top keep the arms there and feel like u hold the angle between shaft and arms

then simply pivot your torso while maintaining spine angle and hold the angle

i bet u will get way more of a hit and it will feel like a slow controlled move.

my two cents

I just wanted to say thank you for all the responses. I watched the video below, and went outside to give it a try. I took a few swings and noticed that I was utilizing almost all left side, and no push with the right side. It was almost as if my left arm was pulling along my right arm. I made about 20 swings using only my right arm, and then took a full swing with both. I could feel the difference immediately. I can't wait to give this a try on the range/course. New goals are to work on my posture and to focus more strongly on the right side of my body.

That's not what Lee is saying Matthew. If anything, more lower body action is only going to drop the club further behind you, causing you to hit even farther out to the right.

You are standing up because you are "pulling" the club through with the left hand. You're trying to give yourself room to do that motion. Try thinking of it the other way. Try PUSHING the club through with your right hand. Don't think about the lower body. If you push with the right side, your lower body WILL rotate. Trust me (and Lee!).

Here, go straight to the source!

so, what ive taken is that i really need to focus on staying down on the ball (not standing up at impact). Also, rotate my lower body more, as opposed to using all upper body.

Look at where you are at the 8 second mark and ask yourself who JUMPS UP to hit a golf ball. Then ask yourself why. Because you have a tall straight back at address. So all the linear expansion required to hit a golf ball you took out and the you stressed the back so you have to jump at it. Why because thats the only way you CAN CREATE ANY HIT NOW. Its also what happens when you try to hit the ball with the left side and not the right. THE LEFT SIDE WILL AND HAS TO JUMP IN ORDER TO CREATE LEVERAGE. Here is the great news. Thats is exactly the way the swing should be in a left sided motion so you are doing it perfectly in other words. So the answer to your question is dont change anything if you plan on hitting with the left side just learn how to play a push fade. All bad golf shots and motions happen with the left side and that is a FACT i am afraid to say. Other than that I would say you have perfected left side motion.

It looks like you are laying the club off, looking at your backswing half way up it is very noticeable. The butt of your shaft should be pointing at the ball, yours is pointing out to right field. Your club head is way below the swing plane. Try getting your hands under the shaft in your back swing. Your current position will cause you to come over the top, and cause your push or even worse if you try to recover by flipping your hands, then you get the dreaded duck hook. ouch!

that is just a standard throw over the top, idk about calling it a push fade, although it may look that way. there are several reasons for ur throw; 1) ur address is too upright and u look a bit stiff, try crouching a bit more and be more athletic with it. 2) on ur takeaway, u roll ur hands a lot which gets the club coming inside and laid off. try to keep ur right hand facing the target line as long as possible and set the club a bit later. 3) a laid off position isn't the direct cause for ur throw. u start the downsing way to hard with ur upper body and unravel much too early, which gets the club coming over the top. U need to start rotating with ur feet and knees while holding the chest back so that the club can drop on plane 4) u are just swinging too hard. Swing with greater balance and rhythm and u will find it much easier to get the club on plane.

Of these four points, numbers 2 and 3 are probably the most difficult to do. I would first recommend finding a better set up and swinging smoother. This could solve a lot of ur problems

I've been having the same issue. Looking at your swing the first thing I see is that you seem to be coming out of your spine angle on the down swing. You are standing up, rather than 'sitting down' if that makes sense.
